Two Aussies and a Yank

Hyatt, Vickey and Kristy had a birthday party threesome on June 11, two days before Hyatt's 24th. I snapped a lot of pictures but posted only a few here. You can see more on my facebook page. Also, Hyatt's gift FINALLY came in (I ordered it the first week in May) so I took a picture of his joyous expression when he opened it.

Everybody had a good time

I got in on the fun too.

They rock.

Hyatt and his buddy, Fahri

Yes, that is a very large book called "Swine Nutrition." He loved it.

Only 6 days until Mandy, Andy and Kristen get here and we are so excited to see them!

Ninja is 24

Yes, I call him Ninja and other cute names like hubsy. But that's besides the point. His birthday was on Monday - what did we do to celebrate his old-ness?

Cleaned a piggery in preparation for his trial which starts this Friday. Have a look at the cleaning action:

We didn't have a key to get in (yet) - that problem has since been solved.

Hyatt spray-washed the whole barn - pens, pipes, floor, ceiling, walls etc.

Oops, how did that get in there?

Ohp! I got caught - that's the "you're done taking pictures" face.

Meanwhile, I'm slaving away moving feeders and bolting them into walls.

Brandi the Builder

Before we headed to our cabin for the night, I caught a pic of the gorgeous sunset. Beautiful end to a productive day!

I HAVE purchased Hyatt's birthday present (on May 6 to be exact) but it hasn't arrived yet so I got him a placeholder gift.

It's the simple things in life that matter. That array of goodies might not look like much but in total it cost about $14. But the smile on his face when he walked in the living room was priceless :)

Coming soon: pictures of the birthday party for Hyatt and two of our friends!

We LOVE Our Salvos Church!

If you didn't know, Hyatt and I attend chuch at the Salvation Army Corps in Thornbury (where the ML was). Even though we moved to the city, we still really enjoy the Salvos Church so we make the short trip there every Sunday evening for service.

This is our church:

Isn't it pretty?

Music is an integral part of any church and congregation, and the Salvos is no different. Except our music comes in the form of a brass band! They're so talented and the music is really uplifiting and unique. I snapped a picture the last time we were at service.

Majors Grattan and Glenda Savage and the rest of the congregation are so warm and friendly to us. They have made us feel right at home and are always asking us how we're doing and offering to help out. This past week, we got a chance to return the kindness by helping with the Red Shield Appeal. I don't have a picture of Hyatt and I collecting but we were helping collect $$ at stoplights so when the light was red, we walked down the lanes of cars with our buckets. When the lights turned green....we ran!

It was a really rewarding experience - it felt amazing to give back to a community who has given us so much.

I'm a Macca's VIP

Are you a Macca's (McDonald's) VIP?

Yeah, I didn't think so. Big Macs and french fries, here I come.
