Top Pics from Perth

We got back to Melbourne late this afternoon (Thursday). I didn't really want to return to Melbourne but all good things must come to an end (that's a stupid saying, I think).

Anywho, I'd like to share my favorite pictures from our lovely week spent in Perth. Enjoy!

View from our hotel room - stunning
Whale tail!
I love boats.

She is so precious!

Cottesloe Beach - a man was attacked by a shark the day after we were there. Sad and scary :(

A lizard of some sort - can't remember what kind but cool picture!

Gemma and Zoe - double preciousness

I love ships....and the water in general.
Cows - well marbled ones, actually. Wagyu-Angus cross
Standing in the Indian Ocean - p.s. by the time I leave Australia, I will have stood in 4/5 oceans. Booyah :)

Hope you got a little bit of enjoyment out of our Perth exploits!

Until tomorrow,

Packing off to Perth

Hyatt was asked to speak at a swine conference in Perth which is in Western Australia. See visual below.

That may not seem like a long ways but it's actually about 2100 miles - which is almost the equivalent of driving from LA,CA to NY,NY.

We're flying, incidentally.

By the time you read this (depending on when you log on to get caught up on our exciting lives), we'll either be enroute to the airporto or in the air on the way to Perth. Don't worry, the blog will continue to supply you with roughly 3-5 minutes of entertainment while we're gone.

While in Perth we plan to go whale watching (I love whales), visit the Maritime Museum and probably go to Rottnest Island. Pictures will be provided later, duh. We're also going to visit some hog farms and a cattle station to get our ag on while we're there. I'll try to snap a picture of Hyatt while he's being all important and stuff. It should prove to be an exciting trip.

Stay tuned for more exciting FroBuzz adventures!

Until tomorrow,

Belted Cattle

Do you know what a belted galloway is? If not, here ya go:

They're an oreo with four legs. That craps.

As you've probably figured out, Hyatt and I have been at the Royal Melbourne Show a lot (he is volunteering and I'm being paid) to help with the livestock pavilion. Last night, a lovely gentleman 'rewarded' Hyatt for helping him unload his belted cattle.

Behold...

A lovely interpretation of a Belted Galloway. Hyatt said the guy had FOUR BOXES of these things to give to people.

Look how excited he was to have received a present.
On second thought, I think that is much more terrifying than exciting.

Until tomorrow,

So good with kids

Hyatt and I have been helping out at the Royal Melbourne Show. Think American Royal crossed with Kansas State Fair but way less animals and no western shopping. Today, Hyatt volunteered to help with a booth about beef cattle run by Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA). He held a Simmental heifer and answered questions like:

- Is it a boy cow or a girl cow?
- What's it's name?
- What kind of cow is it?

(I may or may not have posed as a curious show attendee and asked the above questions).

Of course, as with any animal exhibit, there are a ton of people around. Look for yourself.

Notice anything interesting?

Look at Hyatt - interacting with all those kids. He'll be a great dad. Someday. Ten years from now.

Or more.

Until tomorrow,
